No. Manual wind........I feel like it's more romantic/involved and is at least still in tune with the original moonwatch aesthetic. Something I always loved about watching my Dad and Grandfather winding their watches. I don't anticipate this getting worn every single day, so an automatic was not at all a requirement..... https://www.omegawatches.com/en-us/...professional-chronograph-42-mm-31130423001006
I thought manual wind would be a PITA, but it becomes a routine. I usually leave for work before my wife is out of bed and she tells me that the sound of me winding the watch is familiar to her and now she notices when I don't wind it in the morning. I also agree with your earlier post about not caring if the watch is actually a moon watch. Your watch shares the same movement and heritage as the moon watches so all the snobs can fuck themselves. I debated over getting a speedy pro and decided on the FOIS model instead and I'm a rocket scientist!
Well, that escalated quickly....... Not more than an hour after my last post my broker called me and said he found a just-arrived unit from an AD in his network, and that he was going to honor the price we'd agreed upon. Once payment was squared away, they overnighted it to me and I've finally got my dream watch, with full Omega paperwork in my name. I've probably got to take another link out to get the size right, but to say I'm enamored would be an understatement. Cheers to all the enablers in this thread!
Congrats. I've always though everyone who's into watches should own a speedy.. yet I don't yet Jealous.
How did you get such good pictures of it? Every time I try to take a watch picture it looks like I took it with a potato.
I miss my ‘72 speedy. Sold it when I found out it had been frankenwatched to some degree, and at the time I gave a shit. I should have just enjoyed it.
Congratulations on this one. Enjoy it. Check back in here in 3 months and let us know what you are thinking about next... Congrats on a beautiful watch and I hope your son enjoys it as well!
Switching gears from the high end beauty in this thread. I wanted a basic digital watch not as thick/bulky as my G-Shocks. Found this and love it. Strap is black camo in color but really dark. Nixon Regulus Ride safe, AAron
