vintage stuff is for the kind of music I mostly play now.
rockabilly, western swing and stuff with a pulse.

doghouse bass, hollow body gretch's guitars and my skins.

I like the '70 ludwigs cause they are cheap, & sound great.

 

swingin' and shufflin' and suckin'

Sounds cool. I love that kinda stuff, but I suck at it. If it's a straight When-The-Levee-Breaks kind of groove, I can nail it, but I can't swing to save my ass. I've been trying to work on that left hand shuffle on the snare thing but I still sound like a rock drummer trying to swing.

I should go practice....

..you’re making me out to be some jazz protégé...

just think of "ball room blitz" without the amplification, kind of shuffle, the hardest part is keeping the band from speeding up, or it quickly turns into a train wreck driven by johnny cash.

blues shuffle....yeah my left hand gets tired too and spaztic, I just go back playing time, kind of drag you stick before 2 & 4.

think every song should have a bo diddley beat.
