I was really surprised to see how many drummers responded to the "Don't try this! You'll go insane!" thread. And so, since the guitarists in here are always talking gear, I thought it was our turn.

So, what kinda kit do you play? You play in a group?

I play a set of old (not vintage, just old) Ludwigs. 24" kick, 13" tom, and 16" and 18" floor toms and Paiste cymbals. Two 20" crashes, a ride, and 14" Sound-Edge hats. 'Tis my humble opinion that a Paiste Signature 20" Full Crash is the sweetest cymbal of all time. It doesn't go Tsshhh, it's more of a Buuusshhh like old school Ringo or Bonham.

I'm not a drummer, but Pork pie drum gear gets me hard.

The shop where I work gets a little Pork Pie from time to time; Mostly special order stuff. Looks like some good quality stuff, though.

A buddy of mine went balls out and had Pork Pie do up all custom (over sized) gear for him in a Zebra wood finish.
I'm amazed the feeling those drums give off.

Funny seeing a tiny guy sitting behind that set. :D

I used to dream about owning a Sonor kit in African Bubinga. They're so ridiculously expensive, though.

I've played around on some V-drums a few times; They're lots of fun!

    40 piece. Damn!

Back in my punk rock salad days, my drummers didn't have 40 pieces if you included the stool, all the wing nuts and the drum sticks.

    Damn!
