I thought that was one of the most interesting parts of the race. So out of character for his riding style, but it sure seemed to work in order to pull back positions after he fell back.
I don't think I've ever seen him get the bike sideways like that under control. It's good to see him adapting and hopefully he will be back at the pointy end to make things more interesting.
Not unusual to have a guy like Sylvain ride when a team needs a replacement....and he actually beat a number of regulars at Mugello. It was interesting watching him reel them in over the course of the race. Is he going to win a GP???....Nope, but he's plenty fast and I think he's done well to be thrown into the deep end.
Great to see Ducati upfront again!! With the Red Bull Ring a good chance Ducati will get at least 3 wins this year. Very interesting the factory Yamaha's were trounced by Tech3. This is turning into a very interesting championship!!
Crashing aside, what happened that Lowes is now on the outside?? Saw a whole bunch of kerfluffle about it, but didn't see what happened to get to the kerfluffle.
The Aprilia motor that Asparagus was using was the motor with ~15hp more in it than the previous one. Not sure what happened. Seemed like rookie week in that garage with the shenanigans changing lowes bike around.
Yeah, that was messed up with Lowes. If he crashes or has a mechanical on the main bike during qualifying, bike number two should be ready to go. Swapping wheels for the preferred set of tires and maybe one or two clicks on the suspension and most. That was a mess. Is it possible they only had one decent bike for him and the other was outdated parts / motor? Aprilia really needs to pull out of WSBK completely or out of MotoGP completely because it is pretty clear they don't have the funds to do both properly or even decently. At least Aleix was running decently before it blew up, so we know there is some speed in the bike.
Remember that thing with Rossi switching with Schwantz (?) in the porta potty? Same thing but this time between Lorenzo and Stoner.
