Too many words. He should have just linked the documents FIM posted on their decision. It's here about 20 pages back lol. Case closed long ago except for the Uccionati
Your analogy is wrong because of the "punishment" aspect. The analogy is more apt if you are sent to the back of the line at the DMV the next time you get your license plate.
You may have missed what prefaced that analogy. In the end, Race direction deemed that Marc's actions were full of douchebaggery, but didn't violate the letter of the law. Rossi's actions did. Disclaimer- I'm a Rossi fan and in most of my racing photos, I'm wearing a Sun/Moon lid. Count me as a borderline Uccio who's not blinded by a man crush.
I forgot to use this: I think you and I share a similar understanding. I had responded to G97 just prior to you, along the same lines you did. He accused me of improving the Dung's standard.
All of this would have been avoided if the RD would have DQ'd Rossi for taking out Stoner at Laguna in '08. As for the Emmet thing: tl;dr - and I've read Ulysses 8 times. Plonk.

I cannot tell you how many times while racing someone else has dictated what my line was going to be. Just this year I was "told" that I was going out into the gravel trap at a very high rate of speed when my front wheel got bumped by someone cutting under me going into a turn. And guess what? It was my fault because I left the door open. As a matter of a fact every time I have been forced to go somewhere I didn't want to go has been my fault because I wasn't in the right spot on the track. But I never ran into anybody on purpose because of it...
Thought this was a good vid https://youtu.be/uBthBgmBQ_U srs Q, if MM didn't fall/crash, would this have incident had the same outcome in regards to infractions/points/penalties?
