Not really. He'll go to the hospital via ambulance, ER, admission for at least a week or two. Claim indigence and the hospital will write it off (read: charge everyone who has insurance to make it up)

Then dumbass collects disability for the rest of his hopefully short life.

You can't get to the gate, past security, without a boarding pass. The parents were stuck at security nad counted on help to get their kid on the right plane....OOPS. I never flew alone as a kid (actually never even flew until I was an adult) but idid take the train for several 400 mile trips alone between home and the grandparents. As I recall I had a 3x5 card pinned to my coat lapel giving the conductor my destination.

The next problem is the ticket is scanned at the gate. That should’ve alerted someone the kid’s ticket didn’t match the flight they were about to board. Then, the ticket would’ve had a flight and seat assignment that wouldn’t have matched.

The airport and flight attendants were supposed to be competent and give a rat's ass.
However, this was not the case. Stay tuned for the massive lawsuit.

I flew solo from Lubbock to Houston in May 1978, age 9. No issues at all, it was a lot of fun for me, first time flyer. Met in Houston by my aunt and uncle, we went to Disney world, and I broke my toe wrestling with my cousins.

I can pinpoint the date because I missed an historic, even by Texas Panhandle standards, hailstorm and flooding.

Nope. You can, as a non-passenger, request a gate pass. I've escorted my mother, who was in her 80's at the time, to the gate, to make sure her trip got off to a good start. You just have to be smart enough to ask for one, and know how to do it. In my case, I said my mother had special needs as she would be easily confused on what to do/where to go (which would be true of almost any 80 year old non-frequent flyer and all six year olds).
