He hasn’t ridden a Yamaha in years. Everyone was hyping up Crutchlow the same way, he’s known to be fast without much time on the bike and look at where he’s at. That’s nothing against him, he’s stupid fast but the grid is just too close. Rossi is .7-.8 off the front most of the time. 5 years ago, heck, 3 years ago, that would be top ten pace. Now it’s top 20.
Dovi is fast but to expect him to come back and be in the top 10 on that grid is silly.

 

Vale - 12-14th
Dovi - 10-12th
Mav - 8-10th

 

Especially when you have a clapped out SV.

WSBK seems like a bunch of gentleman racers. BSB and MA racers have more grit.

There should be duels amongst all the firearm manufactures to see who gets to be the COTA sponsor. Front straight, 40 paces.....

 

Remington went chapter 11 bankrupt (again) and its assets sold off in 2020. I doubt they are sponsoring much of anything other then a bunch of Lawyer's summer homes.

 

Crutchlow is still getting used to the bike. He stated compared to the Honda the bike has too much rear grip. Yamaha took all the rear grip out and slowly started putting it back in so he could adjust. I think Dovi will have less issues adapting to the Yamaha than Crutchlow.

 

Sounds like Gresini might lose Flex Box as their title sponsor and are scrambling a bit.
