Status quo for SBK and SSP unfortunately. There might be a podium battle in SBK. It's nice to see the grids are bigger than Jersey and there should be some nice battles further down the order. Twins cup has 34 entries. Stk1000 has 27
I’m excited to see if Andrew lee can battle with the likes of herrin, wyman, and cam peterson....maybe more?
I agree with the double races for every class. But for the guys racing both Stock1000 and SBK it becomes a lot of racing. Arent the next two rounds having 3 sbk races?
As cool as it would be for Andrew and the team, I don't think there is realistically any way he'll be running anywhere close to the lap time needed for him to sniff a podium. I can see him battling with the Cam Petersens, Herrins, Wymans, etc... but I don't think there's any chance he has the pace of the top 3 Yamaha's - let alone Toni and Bobby on the Zook's. However, I'd love to see the Cinderella story of the one-off rider proving to the paddock he deserved a ride this season.
Seeing how well Corey Alexander was doing at NJMP last weekend on his STK1000 ZX-10, I'd say that's quite likely that Lee could/should be able to rub elbows with that crowd mentioned above, and who knows if Toni is having a bad day maybe even give one of the Zooks a run
I don’t know the team or who he has working with him to please take this with a grain of salt. But does that bike have to much? The more high spec parts you put on a bike the more knife edge it becomes and the window of what’s good and bad becomes smaller. This has been clear over the years in MA as well as other series. The way Westby moved to SBK was methodical and spot on the way they tested abs introduced Mathew and the team to the new parts, others have thrown it all on and struggled (RRF and Gagne for example). I’d love to see him do well and I have high hopes for him but I think a top 5 would be like a win.
