Quite a few... I would guess at least 200 in the USA

Thought I would look up the Barber race results. I'm not familiar with Simon Turner, Colin Jensen or Edward Marchini. Were those regular AMA guys or local wildcards? Check out JU ahead of Maloney!!!

It's crazy what's going on with the 250's---they are being sold/bought in all directions, both across the Pacific and the Atlantic, plus they starting seriously to go up in value...

  5. Turner was from Ireland I think, but raced here a bunch. Jensen was from Idaho and had a kitted Aprilia. He traveled with Michael Czysz. Marchini was a fast AFMer, and a fruit farmer!

don't see many suzukis , was there a reason for that?notmany real racing 2ts of any size. ahrma handicaps them in the honder classes. and pushes them in to less popular classes.

They didn't make one you could buy. They barely even had a presence in world GP.

The grid size alone is awesome. Will we ever see them this size again.

250 GP bikes are the most fun bikes you could ever ride on a racetrack, and you don’t have to take my word for it. Alan Cathcart, who has ridden almost every racebike made, said the same thing.

Rich says that the last few years that bike rode itself, he just pointed it down the track. And he is that ridiculous. And his bike is in his living room. What a cool machine.

I have a friend that used to race in the class... he told me that many of the parts are expensive as hell or obsolete to run as consumable anymore! :D Hes boxed his 2 up for safe keeping! :D

John Ulrich ran a hell of a race! Congrats to him on that one!!
Simon turner was from Ireland - he rode for GPtech llc in 2001, then stayed racing the 250 class after GPtech llc stopped fielding a full time team.
I still have my 250, but it’s due for a complete go thru before riding again. I almost sold it years ago, and I’m very happy I didn’t. Cory west raced it at NJ a few years back.

Oh yeah. I remember that race and many others. The win at Road America in 2002 is still one of my favorite moments in racing.

Man.. you're making me cry.....:(. My fave for some reason was the Biganski tuned DelAmo TZ that Nick Ienatsch ran a couple of years. So clean and purposeful....
