I am starting to get the itch to see clear blue water for the first time with the gf. I'd like to not break the bank doing it though! I'll have to run through some of those sites in the upcoming weeks.

That's where we honeymooned. Did 3 nights in a plantation cottage on the south-side near Waimea, 2 nights camping up in Alaka'i, 4 nights camping the Na'Pali, and finally 2 nights in a nice spot on the east coast. Its cheap if you camp half the time. :D

Since we’re on the subject - gf and I are going somewhere in Dec. we were planning on Jamaica. Any suggestions? Looking for an all inclusive. The place Zert mentioned looked awesome, but $550 a night is a little strong.

It's not all inclusive but the place is awesome! Was just there a couple of months ago and wouldn't hesitate to go back! Stay in one of the Villas, not the studios. We spent about $2500.00 for 4 nights and charged a lot of spa and dinner stuff to the room.

Its really hard to beat the value of Costa Rica. If you really want to get off the beaten path, travel to the Osa peninsula. https://www.elremanso.com/

If you want bang for your buck, Costa Rica (I like Quepos) and my next one to try is Belize. Been hearing for 5 or so years now that it's Costa Rica before CR became touristy. If you want to do it up and spend some money because you only live once, may I suggest Portugal? Fly to Lisbon, head to Porto and then come back to Cascais before flying back out.

PS, Zika info - had to cancel Costa Rica trip in April for my friend's wedding because Mrs. Cawk Star was newly pregnant and her doctor was like sorry but you're not heading down to there. CR had elevated their risk level this past winter.

We already booked for maui. Hotel stay was paid for, 1 airline ticket was paid for, its the only way we even have the ability to go otherwise its WAY out of budget.

This Zika thing really has me leaning towards Hawaii... CDC says to avoid having sex within 6 months of traveling to an area with Zika. Fuck. That.

+1. Go somewhere cool like San Diego, get a sweet $400-$500/night room, bang like dogs in heat, and start your life together. Then when things get rolling, do a 1st anniversary at a sweet resort.

How much do you think decent rooms are at nice all-inclusives? I'm not talking about the room in the back that only has a view of the dumpster. It goes way north of that.

You said San Diego - which I don't think of as an all inclusive resort :D

I'm thinking more like a hundred and a half a night and get near the brew pub area so you can stumble home at night :D
