I keep hearing that repeated, but there's no good reason stopping that from continuing. Come up with agreement with EU to keep it happening... life continues.
Well - maybe the threat of having a EU tax ID and the thought of Brussels controlling every member states taxes finally made the old fogies go off the socialism a bit... It seems like there is a lot in play here. I wonder how it will pan out.
I'm 100% with you. EU? Fuck 'em! This btw is the best post you've ever made on the beebs. What I wonder is this: What might this say about our own glorious Union?
Didn't seem to stop Brits before joining the EU...doubt it will have much impact in the long run. Just means that Brits may need to get travel visas for specific countries.
I've thought this for a while. The USA IMO became too successful for its own good. End of century we'll have 500 million people in a continent sized nation. Washington won't be able to govern from the center. Either power will have to devolve or we'll break up.
Oh and only one thing is sure. All the government and media predictions being made will be wrong. Not sure of the future just sure they know less than they think by a lot.
But the Donald got it wrong in a tweet from Scotland. No biggie but the tweets in response contain a mother lode of new insults to add to the BBS glossary page! Linky
God, just when you think the American libtards are bad we have to endure some of their libtard bellyaching too???
I work with a Brit and have heard him use 3/4 of those expressions. Definitely some good insults in there though.
One more. I hear this word is much more socially acceptable throughout the Commonwealth than it is in the former colonies!
Scotland may have a referendum, and it was reported that the Sienn Finn was calling for Irish unity. http://www.aljazeera.com/news/2016/...eland-reconsider-ties-uk-160624130431341.html
If the vote was 92% to exit I get it. But if it's 51% to 49%, you're changing course on a slight majority. The "people" didn't speak, half the people plus 1% spoke. The same usually happens with our elections. Someone squeaks by and then proclaims the people have spoke and want change. Ha. I saw that the most popular search term in the UK today was "what is the European union". I bet if they voted today it might flip 49% to 51%. Seems like the sort of thing you might want a super majority to pass but maybe that's just me. Whatever your view, it's an interesting global experiment to answer "what would happen if."
