Thinking about upgrading to the Yoyodyne Slipper on my 06 GSXR 750, anyone make the switch? or is it just hype?
I had a yoyo on my 05 600 and it worked great and super smooth. I think it is better than the OEM, but not enough better to justify replacing the OEM one on the 06+ bikes. The OEM one can be modified pretty easily to get much more slip than stock. It should have 2 reaction springs....cut off every 3rd tooth on 1 of those springs and it works really well IMO.....then adjust the lifter screws. I think mine are at 1.5 turns out.
Hmm good info ... Mite save me some money I rode a buddies bike with a STM in it and was really impressed guess ill have to try the mod before I drop $1000 on one
I have on an '05 GSXR-750 at Yoyo's recommended settings, it still wags it's tail on the way in. Guess I have to fuss with it more. Anyone got any setup info. that worked? On another note my 1098 with OEM non slipper clutch is dead straight.
I have run an 05 gsxr 600 with an STM slipper clutch and also an 05 gsrx 1000 with a stock slipper clutch. The difference is night and day! With the STM you can actually feel the slipper clutch working through the clutch lever and is WORLDS above the stock slipper clutch. If the yoyodyne is as good as the STM then you will love it!
