Nope, equal ability is closer. Try again. You're saying the difference is sex so anyone Jordans size in the same condition should be able to play as well as he did. Yet no one ever has. Why is that? Are all the others females masquerading as men? You're adding in that along with the differences a woman can never do anything as well or better than a man. It's bullshit.
Quit ignoring the parts where we are talking a specific sport at the core of this and where we're talking men and women in the exact same physical condition - not the top of thier weight or height or other shit.
Well, you can keep repeating that, or you can show one that matches your statement that I quoted. And don't go searching for something that vaguely resembles what you said. I know you guys don't do nuance but words have meanings. The way it works is, if you allege that something exists, you show that it does. The person who said it doesn't exist is not going to find it for you. Otherwise, they wouldn't have said that it doesn't exist.
This is such a dumb argument. Take away whatever numbers you’re talking about, men are simply better athletes than women. Basketball is a perfect example, it’s all about physicality. There’s women that can shoot a basketball better than men, but there has never and will never be a woman that will play at the top level of the game, their bodies don’t do the same things that men’s bodies do. It’s not a coincidence that all professional athletes in the major sports have been the same gender.
Which is precisely the reason it doesn't belong in a discussion about racing motorcycles with no jumps, ruts, mud, or dunes. And yet you brought up basketball…
I thought part of the discussion was athleticism and the difference between men and women. If it’s only about what it takes to ride a MotoGP bike, I don’t think any of us has any idea.
See post 120 to see what he was responding to...i.e. saying males don't have a physical capacity advantage against fatigue that would lead them to have better concentration for the duration of a GP. @HPPT these were both posted before I did.
Quote me where I said that...I'll wait because it bullshit, never said it. I said there are physiological differences between men and women, on average that are present and cause performance differences between men and women. And that those differences don't dissappear at any level of performance, whether the average person or professional athletes.
We have a pretty good idea of what's not required, though. We've seen some of the people who have done it. I bet that if someone ran a search on some of the geniuses who spent years making fun of Casey Stoner's illness, they'd find some of the same people who argue that it takes a top physical specimen to complete the MotoGP race. You know, because someone with his weak constitution couldn't possibly race at that level. Beep logic.
That's just it, getting all measurables as equal as possible there is still the physiological differences that will lead males to perform better, on average, than females. Unless what you're saying is for sprinters (for example) I have to find a male and female who both run an xx.xx time and have them race to see who wins. Of courses thats the case, but then you're not comparing best to best. What I'm saying is pick two professional sprinters, male and female, who are as close to same ht/wt as possible and have them race (hell, even pick a female with a slight advantage in those measurables) and are at the top of their games, and the male will perform better.
I'm not ignoring that. I'm directly addressing that. One of the posts I quoted was responding that exact scenario/sport and how it relates to a full length GP race. I put the post number in post so you can go look at it and what he was responding to if you'd like.
Thanks, but I told you I would read what you post. So I'll just comment on the first one. The following is your interpretation of what you read? "Holy shit, are people actually arguing against the fact that there are physiological differences between men and women (on average) that give men an advantage during prolonged physical exertion?" Like I was saying, complete misrepresentation of what you read. He did not make a blanket statement. He narrowed it down to two specific sports. I don't know anything about horseracing but I'm sure you can guess my position on motorcycle racing by now. You'll understand if I don't spend any time researching your other example.
They're close relatives to the "see, Pedrosa can't even ride without traction control" after his contact with Marc.
I think you need to slow down and read my quote again. I specifically addressed the conversation with those responses you're talking about. And my comment was targeted towards physical exertion...which applies to all sports. Slow down...and read it again.
