46 inch, LCD (6 years old)

Its shot. Took it apart, found where the problem was, and there is not a fix for it, and now need a place to dump the TV.

Best Buy does recycle them, but the largest they'll take (unless you purchase a new one from them), is 32 inch.

Any idea where i can unload this thing?

Cut it in half. Make two trips to best buy.

yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyea........i think not. The entire reason to recycle is because they have mercury in them.

Todd keep an eye in the papers for a local electronics recycle program. I know dekalb county does them every so often at their memorial drive location.

Okay, if you want a serious answer, put it in the back of your unlocked SUV in a Walmart parking lot.
    Done.

6 years old? probably lead too.

Local dump might have a bin but you might have to pay.

 thats actually not a bad idea! I could just leave it in the back of my pick up truck (ive actually put it back in the original box it came in.) That'd be funny as shit to see someone steal it outta the back of the truck, only to get it home and it wont even power up.

That would be $50 at the transfer station here.
I'm afraid if you want to do it right, it's probably going to cost you.

Last chance, donate it to Goodwill.

Search for "Universal Waste Facility" near your area.

Also call your citys DPW and see if they have a household HAZMAT dropoff day, they usually do in the springtime and you can drop off paint and any batteries, smokke detectors, etc. while you are there.

My local recycling center along with all the usual stuff you can bring there also accepts old electronics. Not sure if that is an option in your location.

Look around on here and you will find a list of certified facilities somewhere.

They are the EPA on the state level.

Does the sound still work? You could give it to a blind person.

Had to dispose of one when I was in an apartment. I put it by the dumpster and dude hustled it into his car almost before it touched the ground. Even though I told him it was not repairable. I guess he needed it for his E.T. communicator or something I dunno.

Leave it on the side of the road. Seems to be what people here do.
