I was thinking that it's got to be weird working for that team as an engineer or mechanic. You've got Alonso who's driving, in pain and doing his best while consistently being 3ths faster than Stroll then at the same time you have to, as a team, support a guy who's slower, whines all the time and then pulls idiot moves like he just did on the formation lap in Sao Palo. I mean, Stroll can't be having fun when he's the laughing stock of F1. I imagine he'd have more fun running WEC or doing something else at this point. How does this work exactly?
It's not like there was an access road around the gravel trap he could have driven on to rejoin the circuit. Wait, what? There was??? Hmm, I wonder if he knew it was there.....maybe do a track walk, or just look around....
So Hill is out and they still keep that gas bag Danica... https://www.planetf1.com/news/danic...P0vLcIU0U3qRLMklxg_aem_pZTqLyqvjLWo0mkYPJH5Ig
Some stuff that should be noted: Michael Andretti ceded ownership of Andretti Global about a month ago, reportedly because he lost $50 million of Group 1001's money on some stupid AI (ZPTA, if you are interested). Group 1001 CEO Dan Towriss now owns the entire racing operation with Michael in an advisory roll. Greg Maffei, chief anti-Michael Andretti grudge holder and CEO of Liberty Media, is also set to step down before the end of the year, reportedly due to the incoming administration and DOJ antitrust lawsuits related to Ticketmaster and the GM/Andretti effort. Apparently the FBI is at the Vegas GP this weekend to do some investigating... and surely nothing else . Now the rumors are swirling again, this time from reputable sources, that GM is going to be granted entry as the 11th team in 2026. In addition to these rumors, 30+ job listings appeared on Linkedin this week for UK based technical roles with Andretti Global, so make of that what you will. I think we are going to see Cadillac Racing in F1 in 2026, with Andretti Global running the team day-to-day much like Ganassi already does for Cadillac's WEC/IMSA program.
