O.K. So I found a used 1st gen. motor last week. Suposedly has 7.5K miles and runs fine. Intake valves looks cruddy so I plan on cleaning/inspecting eveything (in the top-end) before putting the motor back in and running it. I'm staying stock with the internals, have full M4 exhaust & re-jet. What kind of gaskets should I use? O.E.M. suzuki, Vesrah kit, ...? Whats out there? What works. Is there anything else that I should do to my replacement motor before running it?
OEM.... Absolutely. The stock gasket works fine with a 1 mm over piston. The valve crud will quickly clean off when you start running it on the track and high velocity gas air mixture erodes it away.
