Great idea that I wouldn’t have thought of. I just cut up 2 huge pecan trees and have several 8 ft sections just piled up that would be perfect for this.

I have a farm policy with umbrella but I’ll be sure to reach out about it.

Hell yeah. This sounds awesome. Hopefully your neighbors aren't going to mind, or will even join in.
Buddy made a 1/10 mile pear shaped flat track in his back. Tons of fun. Put over 100 miles on one of the XRs first summer.

So far from what I’ve cut in I’m about 170 yards to my closest neighbor. It’s pretty well centered on my property and I live in the country so not much anyone could or would say.

Can’t wait to see it! Maybe it’s been discussed and I was overly excited thinking about dirt, but what kinda hikes you gonna ride in it?

I myself would plan to be a good neighbor and only run bikes with stock exhausts, but that's just how I roll. Because I'd also likely be out riding in the dark sometimes...

Started the outside part with the ripper on my box blade then raked it out. I’ll get the big rocks out and run the drag over it next.

What's the over/under on when the thread about defending yourself against an injury lawsuit appears?

I would have started ripping on the grass with some cones or other objects to 'define' the track. Nothing like a grass track!

Water it and rip it again in reverse. Grass clumps are hard to "pack in" also, an old piece of fence with a little weight works WONDERS.

Thanks for the advice I'll do it. I actually have a drag harrow we use to bust up horse manure in the fields. Its like what you drag in arenas to smooth up the dirt.

Harrows are great independent on your dirt, they help make a great “cushion” if you really wanna have fun.

I LOVE working horse tracks because they usually have really nice equipment

Why? That track layout sucks compared to so many other good track layouts.

Alan Wilson doesnt see open spaces when he looks at land...he sees hair pins. Dude is the Oprah is of hair pins...You get a hair pin turn, you get a hair pin turn, you get a hair pin turn.... and instead of straights, we use almost straights and then...chicanes...ta dah mother f%^&*rs.

Hey Alan.....How about some nice flowing corners and sweepers buddy? Nein!!! hairpin is das Superior Turn!!

I'm all about a tight track! Where one is always busy trying to get through some sort of bend, be it a sweeper, S-turns, declining radius to a hairpin, whatever can be squeezed in. Have to leave a bit of separation between lanes though.
