NewRacer Tina! Come get some ham!

Can a Penske 8981 fit almost any newer sportbike with just some adjustments?

So if one comes off a 636, will it fit a R6 with some adjustments? If so, What would need to change?

Was this that dumb of a question?

I know that they have different ones when ordering new, but I figuerd it had to do with the length of the shaft and that it would be possible to change it between bikes. not true?

    bluedogz Loooooooo budget

    Assuming that:

    1) the shaft length is the same
    2) the mounting points and configuration are the same
    3) the standard damping ranges are the same
    4) the standard spring rate is the same

... none of which I think are likely....

    ... then, yeah, it'll work.

I think the gist of his question is.......that stuff can all be changed so if you have a shock can parts be changed to work on other bikes.

Yeah it could be done. But I have a feeling that by the time you go through everything it may be just as much money as buying new.

so what I am hearing is: it isnt readily done because it isnt cost effective.

Thanks, that is what I wanted to know!
