    Good question and like a good lawyer I will say "it depends". The spring has to be selected for the bike, rider, and riding style. That said, I weigh 170 pounds without gear and ride at about the bottom 25% of the advanced group. I had this spring on my BMW S1000RR and when fully geared up and all of the preload taken out I could only get about 24mm of sag. I would like to be around 26mm and have some adjustability for track conditions so I have replaced this with a 10N spring.
