Sadly, all my firearms were lost in a tragic boating accident on Lake Lavon. Or was it Lake Tawokani? Lake Ray Hubbard? Damn, I forget. Anyway, why such deep disdain for an animal species?
My favorite past time, have a rifle dedicated to shooting them. They are all around my house, shot 26 last year and only 9 so far this year. Broke my kneecap in 3 pieces and pretty f’ed up ACL so while the repairs were healing I wasn’t too keen on getting up in a stand. Did get one while injured off the back deck and ended up having to call a buddy to take care of the carcass. Spent a fair chunk of change on stuff to shoot at night just for those mangy bastards. Modified Hornady Super Performance in 308 makes quick work of them.
Can someone enlighten me here. What is with the desire to just blast coyotes? I'm rural on property. I have dogs and I've got no desire to shoot them. The coyotes keep rodent and rabbit populations down. Maybe there is something I don't know but I enjoy seeing them hunt my fields.
Well, in GA coyotes are considered an invasive species and can be hunted/killed any time. Kind of like feral hogs...
I'm always intrigued by the cognitive dissonance on display when people brag about all of the coyotes and snakes they've killed and then in the same breath bitch about their rodent problems.
Ok didn't know that. Different out here in the Pacific NW. After I get my fields taken care of in the spring I get to watch the young pups learn to hunt from the house. They pick it up pretty quick. Taken from the cab of my tractor. This old timer below was getting ready to eat 300lbs of voles.
