Anyone got the scoop? I know its just social media but he looked genuinely happy (maybe because he found a ride) but the Aprilia group seem to be smiling a lot so hopefully there is some positive news. I hate that he's so fragile, but maybe a change of scenery is whats needed. Although now Aleix might be sour that hes probably not the "A" rider if MV gets to running up front.
There is a video of him riding the Ape. Also, shows him doing the rider hand gestures to the crew. Basically, a normal rider test session. https://www.gpone.com/en/2021/08/31...nales-in-action-on-the-aprilia-at-misano.html
I'm trying to troll my Ape riding buddy, so someone shoot me a DM if any Maverick Aprilia swag starts coming out. Preferably a t-shirt or something of the sort.
Saw something on insta that he did 50+ laps and managed a 1:33, only a little over a second behind the track record (that I think Vinales still holds?)...........if there's any truth to it.
He asked for Aleix's set up for the first day. Emphasis wasn't on setting records. This has potential.
Yup I was gonna say generally 3 seconds within is pretty realistic. Especially at how much those are different. It aint like jumping on a different brand superbike. When he was on the Suczuki, was it a V motor or an inline? I can't remember when they changed. Just curious if this was his first "V' based platform engine ride.
I saw that and was wondering if it was a case of Arai providing him with an off the shelf replica versus wearing his Yamaha Arai. It'd suck for him if he lost Monster. Inline 4. The V4 was the previous bike before they took the break from motogp back at the end of 2011.
