Both Fernandez’s and Enea too. (Crash, not hospital) Marquez Bro’s both impressive at 4:30pm local time.
Add Fabio Di Giannantonio ....suffering a left collarbone fracture. He will fly back to Italy to get surgery Add Raul Fernandez... Fernandez has suffered a fractured metacarpal bone in his left hand.
There might not have been visible damage of his melon based on the scans, but that boy's bell got rung.
“Honestly, in the Shakedown we didn’t see any crash, or almost any crash,” Rins said after the first day of the official test in Sepang. “I will [point] to the wind, because it was a really strong wind...there was a lot of free time waiting for the wind to go down.” “The wind especially bad was turn four, turn five was quite strong, turn nine, 11, 13 after the change of direction where Acosta crashed – I don’t know if he crashed for the wind or not,” he said. https://www.crash.net/motogp/news/1...really-strong-wind-motogp-sepang-test-crashes
Looks like he was sleepy time for a bit. Bizarre crash, as the rear let go before there was even much load in it. Cold tires? Fluid?
That's unexpected from Fabio, but nice to see. Hopefully Yamaha made some changes in the off season that will see that team competitive. Miller in 8th (Satellite) and Rins in 14th (Factory) is also decent.
Yup. Day 3 there this week for Fabio - his day 1 time was 1.2 seconds slower than today so that would have put him roughly 16th overall today if it was also his first day. Yamahas tied with KTM for fastest top speeds though - impressive!
Thanks for the data point. While time on bike = faster, it's nice to see that Yamaha has provided some improvements to the bike.
The very first day of the very first real test and multiple racers are snapping bones like Twix? This is not good.
It's gonna be a sparsely populated grid at this rate... I'm really feeling for Martin right now. He was already going to have a mountain to climb, but now he's fucked. Even when he does get back on the bike, it's gonna be like Franci last year or Enea the year before, always a few steps behind learning the bike.
