I was thinkin' the same thing...these bikes are gonna have more wings, spoilers than we ever could have imagined.
I thought the Castrol colors would be used more creatively. Instead it looks like they were added at the last minute and don't fit the overall red/white/blue theme at all, especially clashing with the blue.
I think if they were a larger sponsor, the bike would have been Castrol green. What’s more shocking to me is the lack of sponsor stickers on the lower and more so, the swing arm. and douche bag Puig is still in the picture.
I might be wrong but isn’t the new limitations only on actual size and not the amount of wings, scoops, fins? I know they will be getting smaller but I think bikes will still look like garbage with all the nonsense bolted onto them. Us fans might not even notice a difference if they are only gonna be 1-2” narrower.
I think the new rules don’t even specify aero in general, only the maximum dimensions of the overall silhouette.
Just a small mention of it in the rules - depends on interpretation I guess if they mean aero appendages or actual fairing: The maximum permitted width of the high portion of the front fairing aero body will reduce from 600mm to 550mm, the maximum rear end height will reduce from 1250mm to1150mm, the foremost point of the front fairing (nose) will be moved back by 50mm, and the rearward taper of the front fairing aero appendices will also narrow. Any aero behind the rider must be homologated as part of the aero body. Manufacturers will be permitted to make one update per season.
Won't be long till the auto eject wheelie bars come into effect, gonna be tough on the guy's at rear of the grid
I think the biggest change for ‘27 isn’t the aero or even the move down to 850cc’s, I bet these guys will be more effected by the lack of a Holeshot device and ride height /lowering devices on corner exit.
When did the regulation about bodywork not extending beyond a vertical line drawn though the front wheel spindle disappear?
Is grabbing that "handle" on the back of your competitor's bike and pull them back and yourself forward legal? Probably not practical on a 300HP monster with wings, but if Moto3 had those, you know folks would at least be thinking about it.
