I doubt they would have paid him "retirement" money in his first year.

And again, at the time he was offered, Aleix might've been the only person who believed the bike was going to get better. I'm not even sure the engineers believed it.

The one who should be having legitimate second thoughts right now is not Roberts, it's Dovizioso.

 

Dovi is proving to be a really piss poor choice maker.

If you’re a motogp rider and you have a chance to take the opposite of Dovi in rides do it. You’ll go far in daddy’s car.

Yea but I don't see how the Yamaha is THAT bad is it? Frankie not feeling good either. But Dovi rode the Ape and decided with Yamaha so I have no sympathy.

He's part of the team on the BT Sport MotoGP coverage, he has got a really weird English accent.

 

I don't know anymore. I am just trying to figure out how a racer can fight for a championship 3-4 years, then after a year running around in close to last. I cannot justify it. So maybe the yamaha sucks and hes burnt out...

 

My theory is that the year off did irreversible damage. It's just my opinion but I think he would be much better if you haven't taken the time off. Something inside his head must have checked out and it's not coming back to work.

 

Simon Crafar did. He was telling anyone that would listen that NOW is the time to get on the Aprilia.

 

Dovi rode the Ape and said it was too slow...turns out it was him and not the bike.

 

Pedrosa and Rossi had the same issue, that small time off cost them the edge for the few tenths needed to be competitive
