Sorry, I can't see what you typed because my ear hair has grown into my eyebrow hair. Can you type it out with larger font next time? Thank you.
It appears to be a fake story involving a non-existing person in Australia and the relatively obscure Motoamerica racing series. So maybe just AI generated click bait, but again such a small target audience. Unless they (scammers) have identified us as easy marks lol...
They have. You should see the queue in the morning waiting for me to delete them. Everything from dick pills to Pakistani leathers direct to crypto trading to fentanyl to hookers and blow. Then there’s the scammers who tell you that they bought the part from Joe blow and contact him at his email. Oh, public service announcement, do not post your phone number in an ad, you will get spammed. The bots scrape for that and e-mails address.
It's just a bit wild that there's a bunch of Australian new outlets that picked it up and put it out there.
Right? Prediction- year 20XX, internet has e/de/volved in to a complete debauch, humans return to print media and cash lol.
We'll all have virtual BOTS that will advertise to other virtual bots to make money while we're out racing motorcycles. I don't hate the idea!
Owen Williams joins Altus motorsports in supersport 2025. I watch this young kid at CVMA dice with Aussie Dave and Brenden K. Young up-and-comer kid who is super fast at Chuckwalla. Hope he gets up to speed at other tracks quickly. Very nice young gentleman.
That's not even the one I was thinking of, so I went on a brief search after you posted this and came up empty. I started thinking for a few seconds that I might have unintentionally oversold things a bit, only to immediately remember that the quote I am thinking of does indeed exist, but was in a private conversation. Doh!
MA has a long way to go as far as publicity, getting silly season stuff out, rider announcements etc. As a fan I love hearing about new signings and new teams. Sponsors!?!? Anything. We get small trickles. THe big series are full of talk. Which can be good as it keeps then on peoples minds.
He was a points scorer last season on basically the same bike. So he should be good to go this next season.
I've talked to Sean Bice about this before. They (MA) are really at the teams mercy when it comes to announcements. A lot of signings they know well ahead of time, but to maintain a good relationship they have to wait for a team's media embargo to lift.
Man, I just watched a snippet of Pridmore on the podcast with Cory and Rispoli. Dude was paid $100k in '98 (?) to race Supersport.
Mid to high level Dudes were getting paid very good money to wear brand X helmet or brand Y leathers. I remember being introduced to a helmet rep and he was walking around with almost 6 figures in contracts trying to sign riders to his brand and this wasn’t some new brand from China, it was a heavy heavy hitter. Mladin and Spies almost bankrupted Suzuki.
I get they want to keep a lid until they get clearance. However, even WSBK will put stuff out about rumors. The teams really need to take the marketing end seriously if they ever want real sponsorship back. The fact that a 5 time champ is running an "exotic" BMW with zero sponsors on the bike or him personally says alot. Not even an energy drink?! I love the Rise series. But something is missing. I see tonnes of niche sports out there in the USA that have strong backing. The more people talking the better.
