As a fan, Josh Hayes is at the top of my list of anyone who has turned a wheel in American road racing. He still has it. I don't really understand the rules, or the timeline of the changes, but when he was rolling around in supersport it seemed like all he needed was some motor. After the last season, it seems like Josh was dropped, so someone else got the motor, put the package together, and won the championship. If he wants to be on the grid and isn't, then the whole structure of Moto America is over my head.
Yes, Josh Herrin is crazy fast. It's one of the reasons he won the Superbike championship this year. Most of the top top US riders are staying home and making at least a little money.
Wait, I thought JH was Joshua Hayes?? Now I gotta go back and re-read the last 2 pages and replace Hayes with Herrin.
Dunno as it was left open with just JH. Was reference to Hayes ( JH4 ) or Herrin ( JH2 ) ? And sorta back to Dave K's point, eh ?
I don't think it's a matter of Hayes not wanting to be on the grid. He's on here enough he can speak for himself. It was very unfortunate not to see him on the grid this past season but that's his business. Haye's wasn't the only one either.. (Xavi)..
Hayes has a pretty busy schedule as is with helping Melissa's team and other stuff he does and he's at a point in his career that he doesn't need to be on grid to get phone calls for rides. I have a hard time believing not being on a Motoamerica grid is anything but his own choosing.

This is just my opinion, and I have spent a lot of time within that paddock so I have perhaps a skewed view - For all Josh Hayes has done for Yamaha, I'm not sure the payback was equitable or fair. Josh knows that's how life is, he's a big boy, but it hurt my feelings that it hurt his feelings. If that makes sense. He will deal with it and be the admirable soul he always is.
Thank you. Was always a fan of his and sad to see him get shown the door this way. Also, does anyone else have trouble following MotoAmerica as a fan? I don't know why, but I have an easier time staying up to date on all the comings and goings in GP, Moto2 and Moto3 than I do in our national championship. Maybe it's me?
For me it was bouncing back from the DMG years. Yeah, that was decades ago, the dinosaurs are dead and we won WW3. MA is doing a very good job and I’m learning who the players, knew many from the old days but learning who the up and comers and especially who the kids are has been a learning curve. I may not like all the classes but I no longer beat up grass and yell at clouds over the twins.
I figured it was fake... but there was a guy with the same last name that name some MA races. I just don't get the angle of the scam here...
So, tl;dr: you're telling me to try harder? Honestly, for me, it's the number of classes and the overlap in riders between classes that I'm like "who's on first? what's on second?"
Nope, not in the least. I basically said I’m in the same boat and that you need to trim your eyebrows, you look like the Bumble from that old Christmas special with the elf that wants to be a proctologist. Or along those lines and shit.
The Italian Superbike Championship (CIV) runs 9 classes per weekend. It's insane but they manage to squeeze tham all in.
