To follow on from what Gino stated, there were several riders that were not within 110% of Jody's record setting time in Q2, but there were within 110% of Jody's Q1 time during Q1. In other words, once you get within 110% of the fastest rider in Q1, it doesn't matter what you or the fastest rider does in Q2 because you are already in the show. Your grid position might change, but you will be on the grid.

It's not 110% of the overall fastest time, it's each session individually. Even FP1.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say but that's kind of my point. There is a whole decade and change that went by since the last one. And before that, you have to go to the early 90s for what I call "dominant." If you're not producing more guys like that, you at least have to supply a steady flow of strong ones. That's how people abroad remain aware that you have a strong championship.
