We've decided to make the trip to Misano this year. It'll be our first time so I'm hoping some veterans can share some advice. Thoughts on which seating area is best? Any other tips and hints to make the trip more fun? Thanks in advance!

The VR46 fan club section is pretty fun, even if you’re not a VR fan. One thing to note, once you’re in your seating section, you’re stuck unless you leave the track. You can walk around the back side of the bleachers, but you can’t walk around the track.

Riccioni is the beach town a few km from the track and will likely be where you find lodging. One thing of note, if you’ve never been to Italy and are looking for that classic Italian feel, this area is very modern so I would recommend venturing out to the surrounding towns for a day, and/or plan some time in Bologna. Bologna is likely where you will pick up the train to Riccioni, unless you’re driving.

We are staying in house through Airbnb in Misano-Adriatico, but Rimini is close by and has a lot of places to stay. Make sure to make reservations now, confirm them, and pay in full, or you will find yourself with cancelled reservations. It is relatively common to head about people who end up in a bidding war in August right before the GP and they end up without a play to stay.

Anyplace in that region is great to visit, Florence, Rimini, Bologna, Venice etc., you can’t go wrong.

Once inside the track sit in the Rossi Grandstand, that is the most fun. Thousands of Rossi fans gather in Tavullia and walk to the track Sunday morning, it is about 10 kilometers (6 miles) and is a great time.
