I'm in Wesley Chapel and most are running out up here too. One of my favorite times to have a diesel is during hurricanes. Can almost always find it.

One of the reasons I built a cabin in western North Carolina was to escape all the damn tropical weather on the Gulf coast...

Highly populated areas in the firing line. We expect 60+ gusts and shitload of rain but C FL is gonna get smacked sadly.

Sadly, with it's forecasted intensity whereever it hits is going to sustain major damage. The last few made landfall at relatively sparsely populated areas. This one looks to be aimed at Sarasota/Tampa area. With all the debris still laying around from Helene, that shit will be turned into projectiles in the wind and battering rams in surge.
All around shitty deal for the Gulf Coast.

We have already received an email from Citizens, our insurance provider, stating that they may be an assessment to our policy if they run out of money. Brilliant business model.

The path of this storm doesn't look good, and is picking up speed.

Supposed to run into some shear and draw in some dry air on the backside before landfall, but it'll still be a major storm. It intensified 95mph and dropped 40mb in a day.

Complete BS! The executives have been receiving 7-figure incomes and always plenty of money for them. But, for those providing the revenue to them, in exchange for benefit, there are no rights.

I just went through this with MetLife. I pay 100% of the premiums, through auto-pay. Yet, they do everything possible to not pay me, when filing a claim. It’s not like it’s coming out of the decision maker’s account, so pay out the claim without the hard time.

lizard84 My “fuck it” list is lengthy

It' going to be bad, tons & tons of unmoved residential debris is stacked along all the streets of Sunset beach as well as other barrier island community, all the heavy duty sand removal equipment rolled out this morning. Treasure Island is finally going to open Sunset beach to residential traffic only at noon today so people don't have to use wagons and dolly's to haul stuff up to a mile to their cars and trucks.

Looks like the peak winds might back off a bit before it hits land, but unfortunately it is forecast to going to keep growing in size. This could be a triple threat of flooding, storm surge and wind damage for places close to the eye, but on the south side.

My folks are still fighting Citizens to pay out from damage sustained from Ian a couple of years ago. If Milton hits bad, I don't know how anyone will be able to find "good" insurance, much less pay for it.
