I've never had them but will soon have them for 2 bikes. Anything different about them when it comes to tire changes or anything else?
Get them inspected before the beginning of the season, and/or after an impact of any significance. . They can crack. Aside from that, just keep the clean. Dont be the dude with shitasstastic looking CF wheels.
Be nice to them while changing tires. And really check them over after crashes, they dont like impacts.
Make sure whomever is doing the inspection actually knows how to inspect composites. Non-destructive testing of composites is not new to aviation. A purely visual inspection is not sufficient, the simplest method involves tapping the surface with a coin and listening to the sound it makes, the more complex involve ultra-sound or x-ray. The layup/size/shape of the part will determine what methods are appropriate. I have no idea what criteria might exist to define "impact of any significance," but to give you an idea of what might apply to aviation: Max G in flight above X Max G on landing above Y Bird strikes on X,Y or Z surfaces
there's an experienced racer that i was pitting with back in 2017. he bought the fancy CF wheels and went out on the bike at Daytona. said it was almost unridable. too much feedback. went back to OEM wheels for the weekend. probably not an issue at a smaller track, but something i wanted to share.
