Yeah it does. Actually, it happens so much it makes me wonder if there is something more nefarious happening that borders on corporate fraud.
Hey, I have friends that recently became MV Agusta dealers. So, for their sake, I hope it doesn't tank Pier Mobility, or them
Haha. I don't expect everyone to know or care... But one of Pierer Mobility Group's brands are improving sales this year. I'll let you guess which one.
From what the article I read a few days ago, suppliers will cease shipments of parts to build bikes this week.
Well when you were out sinking alone with no distribution and you went from selling 10 bikes to a 1000 bikes that is an easier job. Edit: I had to look after making my smart a.. comment So...since 23 was that bad, now that you have KTM distribution, hopefully it went up. https://www.google.com/search?q=mv+...CDk2NTRqMWo3qAIAsAIA&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 Here are some sales figures for MV Agusta: 2021: MV Agusta sold 5,000 motorcycles in 2021. 2022: MV Agusta sold just over 3,000 motorcycles in 2022, which is more than half of their best performance in the last decade. 2023: MV Agusta sold 1,823 motorcycles in 2023, which was a 42.5% decrease and a new negative record. With those poor results, the good news is there is only one way to go....UP!! The famous Italian Motorcyle manfacturer MV Agusta Motor S.p.A. has not been a success story in recent years. Market shares even fell from 1.02 percent to 0.24 percent in Italy after 2023. Annual sales figures remained in the four-digit range.Jun 21, 2024
Thanks for clarifying. I'm close to pulling the trigger on a '24 superduke, since they're on decent discount. But after all this, I'm gonna give it some time. Way too scary to spend 19 grand on a bike that will inevitably need parts.
My impression is that is due to a negotiated production pause and not a payment issue. Nonetheless, your point is taken b/c the lack of money to pay = forced production pause.
Sounds like a plan. Plus, given the fact that KTM is sitting on TWO years of inventory you may find a better deal in early CY25.
I'm casually looking too... I'd prefer an R over the Evo, but not seeing any deals yet on them. Either way, they're well under 19K. Really the biggest deterrent for me is the fact that the only KTM dealer within several hours is Pony Powersports in Mansfield... nah Bruh...
I wonder if what they mean by "sold" here is actually just "sold in" to their dealers. That would explain why the volume keeps dropping over the subsequent years as they frontloaded 2021. What's the scoop @LukeLucky ?
I presume it is sold to the dealer. I know with forklifts the number they provide is how many I bought from them and went onto my floor plan. @LukeLucky just recently started there, I think he said. I thought it was a new dealership, but maybe mistaken in that?
I thought the USA only gets the Evo version. MSRP is $21,500. Best I've seen is ~19.5k OTD on 2024s. I've found some 2023's for 15.5 OTD. This is after talking to a few places. There's several that still want over 20k, and that's not happening.
We're new, but exceeding unit sales expectations. MV USA is adding dealers to their network rather frequently now. They're creating new departments to manage the new dealers in Canada, Mexico, etc. as well. I know the Mexico City dealer has been doing exceptionally well down there too. We even share a customer who bought a Rush Mamba for his house in Mexico City and a Superveloce 1000 Serie Oro for his house* in LA. *Because he has a small warehouse of supercars and bikes and thankfully he uses them all. It may make more sense for KTM to go through insolvency / restructuring before having money invested from an outside source; ensuring the liabilities are minimized.
Yeah I wasn't even thinking about that when I made my post too. I was to say like 2 years ago they said that within like 3 years they expected half of their business to be E-bikes which definitely had me scratching my head. I LOVE ebikes and have had several but they were already on the downside of the covid bicycle wave when they stated that, not to mention they were a new player in the market. Lots of real head scratchers the last few years for sure. I do hope they come out of this in a good spot, they make lots of great bikes and I've had several and had great luck with them. Will be an interested 6 months or so for them.
Thats a smoking price if you can find it and it's 'true'.... My '23 SDR Evo is the most fun bike I've had in a long long time.
Troll much? As an actual owner of a 1390 SDR EVO 24’, it’s referred to technically as a R Evo. I paid mid 19’ for mine and the dealer who happens to be a long time Wera sponsor here on the forum price checked the entire US inventory for that deal. Folks thinking anyone is going to get a deal on anything less than clearance overstock collecting dust from years past nowadays are smoking some serious fentanyl.
