KTM ECU Software Upgrades and Accessory "Dongles"

I have a Superduke 1290 R (2015) . I have a "race dongle" and one of the functions does not work. Apparently I need to update the software version, or maybe some other enabling of this dongle with the factor diag. tool.

I don't get a warm fuzzy that my local shop knows how to do this, or even be willing to since I didn't buy the dongle from them. Place I bought it from is where I heard that just upgrading my software should make it work, and that that upgrade should be free, or maybe I could mail it in to KTM...

Anybody have any insight on this specifically with KTM?
