Okay, trivia time, AC/DC people. I assume most of you are aware that Brian Johnson is a sports car racer? He used to do the Firestone Firehawk Series (now Grand-Am Cup, that runs w/ F-USA @ VIR), but now he competes in HSR. :)

I was gonna comment on this before you said it. I had heard that Foster's down under was like Pabst Blue Ribbon or Milwaukee's Best over here.

"Foster's, Australian for Horse Piss" :D

    Mat,

Seriously, What kind of training regiment do you have and do you do any cross training on Dirt bikes? I find that keeping up with riding a dirt bike through tight woods really helps my riding on the track. Just curious if you still do it and how much time per week you spend training. If ya can, gimme a breakdown percentage of cardio/weight training. Thanks.

  7. Since MM has failed to answer the quiz question of "who is the most famous suspension tuner in OZ "(he is also a major performance parts importer, and the main Ohlins rep) I am now siding with Super Dick that MM is an imposter!!!

  11. It may just be the the Almighty and Al-knowing Dick was right on this one...

I bow before your throne O Wise and Psychic One!!!

The theory did exist that MM was a publicist, and I thought my quick question that no publicist could answer would be the nail in the coffin. But now two days have passed.... Hell, I bet Gobey coulda hit the buzzer and answered the question faster than two days!!!;)

  12. Hey Mongo,

What we need is a REAL BBS with video streaming so that we can actually watch MM banging away at the keys...

But then everyone would know JU's deep, dark, typing secret...
    :D

What secret? That he's the fastest two finger typist in the West? :)

Max - as you may have noticed some people don't read every post. Of course MM could have put you on his ignore list.... :D

  14. Yep, that's it!

I have never seen him in action... Can he type as fast as someone with 10 fingers using only 2? If he can, then imagine how fast he could type with 10!!! He would melt the keyboard...

I never have asked him why he just doesn't learn to use all of his fingers? Maybe he didn't know he was going to be a journalist, and so he didn't figure it was important to learn.

Is there such a thing as a BBS where people can see each other type/talk through video?

He's not as fast as a good typist using all 10 but he's faster than anyone I've ever seen using less....

You can do 2 way video and speech but I haven't seen a BBS like that. It would crowd the screen too much to try and talk to 30-40 people at the same time anyway.

And the following is a picture of the newest famous person to be sucked into the BBS courtesy of Bruce -

I like to keep my training to a routine base that I do everyday rather than going around and finding different things to do. ie: mountain bike, road bike, rock climbing and all that sort of stuff. I have a full gym set at my house. ( I hate busy health clubs)
I have a gym program that takes 4 workouts to do the whole body. Chest and Biceps, Shoulders and Abs (I don't care for the abs), Legs, Back and Triceps. I run atleast 4 days a week. All my workouts last for approximately 45 minutes. 45 minutes is the max length of all my races except Daytona. I don't do any special training for Daytona because physically I feel it's the easiest race. I always have 1 day per week off and try and make it Sunday. The days I do both gym and running I like to run in the morning because gym work is alot more fun and I know I won't get slack and miss it in the afternoon. I was a motocross racer before I started road racing in 1991 so I love to go moto-x. The biggest problem is when you have an injury, it makes it hard to stick to so I don't make it one of my staple exercises. My favorite is gym work, the only problem being I can put on muscle pretty easy so I have to stay calorie restricted somewhat so I don't balloon out. I weigh 175 now. In 1996 I worked out hard and was 185. When I stop racing I would like to be 190-200. Anyway for me I like to do everything for about 45minutes at a time and keep the intensity up.
