I've been a member of this forum since I started racing in 2019 with OMRRA in the Pacific Northwest (three-class champion, and club runner-up). Now, I'm the CEO of Krämer Motorcycles USA. Before that, I ran the website Asphalt & Rubber. I know there's been a lot of talk here about Junior Cup, MotoAmerica Talent Cup, and now the Krämer APX-350 MA. Rather than have the usual internet speculation, I'm here to answer any questions you might have on those topics. I'm a pretty direct person, and if I can answer a question I will, though I will preface I do have an NDA on some topics that are still confidential. Some topic starters: How did Krämer get involved in the MotoAmerica Talent Cup The design and development process that's gone into the Krämer APX-350 MA What comes after the 350 in the APX platform Fire away.
Kudos for taking this open approach to communication about your product and involvement in the sport. Will Krämer be working with Dorna or IRTA as well as MA for the series?
As someone who’s got 2 MotoAmerica 400’s and sponsor a couple others, can you tell us before I buy one if there is a long term idea? I don’t wanna rehash the last spec class but I don’t wanna have a one year only race bike. I would love to see a 3 year min deal with a rules freeze. meaning other than maybe tires and fuel, and your stickers, we can use the same bike for more than one season. thanks in advance. Ps is this Jensen?
Also, let me flog one of those at VintageFest! Fillmore sux. Cause he’s way better/faster/slightly better looking.
I'd highly recommend you dump the shitbox KTM motor platform. From a guy who's got an open complaint on them.
You’ve been here for awhile so you know you’re gonna get the typical bbs “love” but it’s cool af that you’re throwing yourself out in your current role.
Talk to your local Krämer dealer, or you can buy one direct from us. You can reach out through the contact page on our website; https://www.kramermotorcyclesusa.com/contact-us The better question is will there be a 990, and if so, when? I wouldn't expect one in the USA for 2025.
Couple questions on the Talent cup Sponsorship stuff for next year is already getting going. How much real estate will be available on the bikes for sponsors? Will the graphics be open? Rider gear open or spec? At Mid-Ohio since its not a Motoamerica round will talent cup racers be able to run other classes (either on the cup bike or other bikes)?
I'm assuming the seat section is the gas tank. Has it been crash tested? (giant lever arm there) Is it blow molded? (just curious). If the seat section is the gas tank, is the material it is made of resistant to alcohol/deformation? I see the seat section looks to possibly be adjustable for height, by rotating the offset mounting insert. Is this correct? Or, are the offset mounting inserts there to compensate for the seat not being made of a dimensionally stable material? (I have a 2014 KTM Duke 690, that the *new* side trim panels I just bought won't mount up to the tank, because the tank is so deformed) That's all for now.
FIM: Yes Dorna: Yes IRTA: No Dorna very much wants American riders in grand prix racing, and very much wants MotoAmerica to be part of the "Road to MotoGP" initiative. I don't think we would be here talking if Dorna didn't like what Krämer is building with the APX. One of the things that I think is often not understood is that Dorna would not include a Junior Cup style event in MotoAmerica to be part of the Road to MotoGP - the difference between a street bike and a prototype bike is too large in a racing application. For MotoAmerica to have a pathway into Red Bull Rookies / Moto3, they need a talent cup with prototype bikes. The FIM has very similar interests as Dorna in all of this. IRTA is only worried about teams in the grand prix paddock. I'm not sure if you're asking this question, but I'll answer a bit about our aim on an international level: Krämer was a little late to the party with the WorldWCR, and I think the EVO2 would have been a perfect fit for that class. When we talk about the APX platform being a platform, that's really the case. All the KTM dirt bike engines share a common engine mount pattern, so we can stick just about anything in the APX chassis and make a bike out of it (I'll let that thought stoke some ideas). The Krämer APX-350 MA has that "MA" in the name because its built to a spec that MotoAmerica wanted. We can make a spec for any national series or any regional talent cup series, and we're already starting those conversations. Success for me would be Krämer APX bikes becoming the standard for talent cups around the world.
