"experienced, well-funded, marketable, team/goal orientated philosophy" well... I got the philosophy part :-D
So you could focus on riding, and learning the ropes of the AMA along the way gaining the proper exposure infront of the right people. It may seem like a lot of money, but with it comes some things money can't buy and in the long run could actually save a rider money if he has a clear vision of what he wants and where he wants to go.
The team, your name, your results, your likelyhood to crash a bike into a pile of future beer cans, your marketability. . . you know, the usual stuff.
Sure, off the top of my head, Herrin. The kid just needs results at the club level and bushel baskets of cash to get to the point where he (or she) is noticed. Racing ain't cheap to start. JU has a good eye and give you a pretty damn long list of kids he found that went from riding for Mom and Dad one year to riding for a nice paycheck the next. I can also cite a few riders who came up the other way: paid for a ride to get noticed and succeeded.
