Boiled peanuts are win.

Get some of the good, fresh, raw, big peanuts from the stands on the side of the road...then put a bunch of them in a big ass pot with a bunch of salt and fill it with water. Put them on 1-2 or so.

Stir them every 30min or so and let them come to a boil. Then turn the heat down and let them soak.

Get some every 20-30min to sample till they taste right and are soft.

Now all you need is cold beer, a big TV, ESPN and you have the perfect Monday Night.

 

Boiled peanuts must be an acquired taste.

Being a Northern boy, I tried them once while I was down in Ga at a buddy's place. I couldn't get them out of my mouth quick enough! Nasty stuff.

 

Yeah, but you guys drive around all winter with bags of sand in your trucks. When we want sand, we go to the beach.

 

Naw, I sold my truck and got rid of the sand bags.

The van is a pig and doesn't need any more weight!

I'm a yankee and I LOVE boiled peanuts! Cajun is my favorite!
