I do want to do a ride with you. However, next year we are going to Amsterdam, then Spa for the F1 race, and to Germany to see my Aunt and Uncle and my 3 cousins with all their family. Plus Italy, Croatia, Serbia, Hungary, all sound better than a war zone. Did you work on the bike and make sure it runs for when I arrive? How about the paperwork for it, I don’t remember getting all that?
No Serbia this trip, but I've been several times previously. Really enjoyed it. Have been all around Lake Ohrid in the past, too. We spent several days in Napflio and Parga.
For sure if you don't go to the right areas or travel on the autostrada, Italy won't be too impressive. Tuscany... are you joking? Chianti is my favorite area
Italy is a pretty country, but growing up in so. California and also living in northern California I have a different perspective than someone coming from say the east Coast or England, they say how great the beach is, I wasn't that impressed, coming from a place like la Jolla or Malibu.
We all have our opinions and all, but I also spent 35 years in OC on the beach. Italy blows away California in nearly every category. I will say that the beaches in SoCal are world class, though, even if the ocean is murky and not very swimmable.
Agreed... but.... SoCal beaches are wide and white sandy with great weather and no commercial crap taking up any of the sand. They're also 100% public. Just not very swimmable. San Diego is not bad, but still chilly even in the summer. My fav beach in SoCal is Salt Creek. Its kind of amazing
The bike was good to go when I parked it... just needs a rear tire and probably a front too. I believe they sent the title back to Martin in Ireland so he could assist you with transferring it to your name. There are probably rodents taking up space in the carbs by now tho...
Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi, Uganda, Rwanda. I don't think I'll have time to make it to a beach on the sea... gonna be skirting the edge of Lake Victoria most of the way.
Wrapped up a 2,200 mile loop around Lake Victoria with my brother on POS rental Kibo 250s. Super nice trip. The people ranged from awesome to hostile. Only one problem when a gang of young crackhead guys tried to pull me off my bike in Uganda. Well, the bikes had constant problems, but nothing we couldn't get fixed.
If you are worried about class, this is the wrong place to be. Might I suggest the watch thread. Plenty of high class stuff there.
