I spent four days, 30’ in the air, in a church this week. Why was there constantly playing in my head every song by Mercyful Fate I’ve ever heard?
So, I like Puscifer, but never fully connected with it… partly due to the inconsistency of styles. Then I finally saw the live show and it really got me. the subtlety of Carina’s vocal harmonies is extraordinary. fun note: there some video out there of her singing backup with the current Tears for Fears incarnation that’s really good.
Clapton, Winwood and Mayer. (She was trying to remember the words to city love, and old love.) Winwood and Blind Faith were happenstance.
its Carina I listen for… I like Puscifer in general as I do Perfect Circle and Tool is my favorite but it’s her voice I listen to Puscifer for… I’m the same as you described, I don’t like the dramatic seemingly Les Claypool over influenced songs… I however can’t get enough of the harmonies and songs she directs according to MJK… How did the live show change your perception of the other off character type songs? Some of her solo stuff is really really good too, hauntingly wonderful vocals
