Just watched the highlight video from AMA Pro and the start of the SB race...This is what I saw which seems to be in conflict of what some others saw. JH started rolling shortly before anyone else except RLH...and never stopped. Although it did not appear that he crossed the line, he was definitely rolling at the start. RLH started rolling and grabbed the front brake and came to a complete stop. Sorry, but IMO (and that isn't worth anything) there was definitely an advantage gained...and he got caught! JMO
HOLD on.. i didn't read it that way at all ! I read his post it as should Herrin win, some might contend it's not legit (which we know is b.s.), and should Hayes win, it's a story of overcoming big time adversity. Maybe with a bias toward Hayes, but he's hoping we don't have to listen to any pundits spew a theory of a Herrin championship being anything but legit should Herrin pull it off. You have to admit, if Hayes does win, there is no question who won. But if Herrin wins, there will be some that will try to say it's not "legit" due to a variety of reasons such as the dnf's, crash, and start infractions, etc. ALL of which are JUST PART OF RACING.
Harrin has been consistent, fast, stayed out of trouble, and hence he will earn the championship if he wins it by just that. I would however, like the see the guy who has been fastest in pretty much every practice session, qualifying session, and race, all year long, win it.
what kinda logic is that ? Is there a new rule on the WERA forum you can't post info unless you actually believe it ? I can't hide my hope for Hayes to pull it off, but that's why they actually race. If we knew the winner before hand, they could dispense with all the trouble of turning 20+ laps and hand out the awards Herrin will deserve it for sure if he does win for reasons you and many pointed out. Consistent, fast, stayed out of trouble, maybe took care of the motor better (but we would be speculating on that one), but yea. You have to be in it to win it.
Just watched it again. If any movement is movement the Herrin is guilty as well. I would sue the livin shit out of the DMG for such a bogus call either everyone that had any movement gets Penalized or no one that didn't gain an advantage. Not that I don't like Herrin but this isn't how I would want to win a championship.
Looks like the entire front row moved. Hayes did stop, or at least slow down considerably before taking off.
I couldn't tell who jumped...watching it in SD was painful enough...I couldn't see enough detail to tell if the bike was moving or not.
yea, just gonna have to wait for another HD telecast. I can't watch anything in SD anymore.. ... except some porn, HD porn can be downright scary sometimes..
found it ! ^^ thanks. and If you look enough times, 3 of the 4 on the front move, even if by some tiny amount. MC was the only one i couldn't see flinch 1 little bit. But ya don't get to see the light in this vid. I mean, no movement is NO movement right ?
Needs to be on the big tv in HD. Movement is movement. I'm silently praying they protest this and they review the video and do the right thing. Herrin would still have the points lead and the best man will win the championship.
Reversing the call would be the worse thing they could do. JH2 knew he didn't have to beat JH1 on the track - he only had to be <5 sec behind. He said so post race and that was his mindset. Oh...and JH2 wasn't 100% still...movement is movement. The rule is stupid, as the subject reads.
And that's my point. I understand the big boys are talking here, but from the fan/club racer perspective (and common sense), gimme a f@cking break. If a racer - ANY racer - even bounces the suspension intentionally - who cares if they didn't cross the line? Nobody. That's who. It wasn't a jump start, and five seconds is retarded.
