Haaahhhahaha… that reminds me of when I first started wearing reading glasses… Fred was still racing and we were out at a restaurant local to Road Atlanta… Waitress comes up with can I get you folks something to start? Yes, a flashlight.
I did the phone flashlight things for a few months then finally realized I could see everything else in the bar/restaurant just fine so it wasn't the lighting...
I need mine for distance and the last year or so I have to take them off to read. And I usually need to use a magnifying glass to read carb jets now. Welcome to 60...
I had to use reading glasses with a magnifying glass like a loser to pull a vin off an old Briggs a few weeks ago Might as well saving for new shades
These are pretty good for jobs where you need safety glasses Choose your magnifying level https://www.amazon.com/3M-Protectiv...ref_=pd_bap_m_aisles_rp_aisle_1_wdg_604_1_2_t
Anyone else have suggestions for a new headlamp? My cheap one took a crap recently. Was looking at Pelican, but this one looks decent, @rd400 racer. You obviously like yours.
This is the newer version of the one I have but mine keeps lighting the way. I also have a couple of Petzl's but the Fenix is my go to for everyday use.
You got me sent down a rabbit hole, and I ended up with a PD36R Pro. Probably should have gone with a headlamp for the intended usage, so another purchase may be imminent.
Fenix makes solid products with good battery life. Have one of the double AA lights for everyday for years now and still great. Picked up the HM50R head lamp for dad, and that thing is tiny.
Played with one this am, it’s 6 degrees here and windy which is damn cold for Ga. He is not very playful at the moment and won’t fetch or even move when I throw the ball. Had to go old school as I loaned out my 10 with all the fancy thermal. Was just using my cheap Bushnell Equinox night vision and lit him up at last second with scope mounted light on the rifle. Hornaday Critical Defense in 308 are pretty good at defending your property sent the 30 or so modified Superperformance with the AR so used what I had loaded. They got 14 last night between 3 guys at a buddies property. 14 in under 3 hours, I didn’t think that many would even be in one area but they have a stack of ‘em.
I've been using the slonik brand off Amazon for a few years, small, priced great, and make a ton of light. Got a few guys at work hooked on them as well. Fenix makes a great product but these perform just as good IMO
Days are getting shorter. My cheap headlamp died a while ago, and the household is in need of a few other smaller flashlights, besides my old clunky vintage 6 volt flashlight (other's here hate it,) and my 2 DeWalt 18 v lights. Getting ready for Barber in a couple of weeks. What's new that you all like? I like good quality rechargeable stuff.
I’ve been happy with my Baton3 from Olight. Magnetic base, clip that fits onto the brim of a hat to act as a headlamp, multiple brightness levels, and a recharge case that give three or four full charges before it needs to be recharged.
I bought a LEP flashlight the other day. It's a spotlight though and not very practical. It's pretty fuxking bright.... like shine it on a ceiling and light up a whole floor of your house bright during a power failure.
