Flashlight

Anyone have a link for a flashlight that fits this critieria:

• LED
• Uses 1 or 2 (pref 2) 18650 batteries
• On/Off only - no strobe or varied intensity, just 1 click on, 1 click off

Yep, not going to argue with Surefire.

 

Pricey but bombproof. Probably not the absolute solution for every application unless money is simply of no concern. But if you want your light to outlive you, they are a good option. For applications where I want that sort of durability, I'll go find the right light on their site, then go shop it around a few different places. Not terribly difficult to find them for well under msrp if you know where to look.

The shop that I work for is a dealer. This is the brand that all of our customers go with. (Fire and Police) The flash lights do have variable intensities and strobe built in, but it doesn’t cycle through those functions. The flashlights still function as click on, click off. It takes holding the button, or really fast clicks to get it into other modes.

 

Fenix flashlight are the only way to go.

 

I have a Nebo light that I really like, but is a USB chargeable type. And compact, only about 5in long, but really bright.

Mic drop/end thread. I’ve got a quiver of Surefire/Streamlight flashlights. The MCH kills them all, only thing close is a Mod light..

 

Ive had a Olight warrior Ive used 5 days a week for the past 2 years Way brighter than anything of the same size.

 

Love my pelican rechargeable at work, lifetime warranty and they actually honor theirs

Does red and green also for times when you cannot talk

Awesome! Lifetime warranty too. I use the double clutch headlamp for work, It quit working in flood mode after a few years of 40 hours a week use, so I sent it back in. They sent me back a new one complete with a new battery, no questions asked.

 

It’s good, but P Funk (wants to get funked up) is better.

 

I have about 3 Surefires, 2 about the same take a single 18650, none of my lights have strobe etc. The headlamp I have is awesome.
I also have a MOD similar to the surefires that someone gave me as a gift, $300 is a bit over the top for a flashlight. It’s damn good but not even close to justifying the cost.
Also have 2 Olights on rifles that I use for final confirmation before shooting if there is backlight messing up night vision / thermal - yes I’m probably overly cautious coyote hunting. I’m going to order one of those Protac’s. I like to keep flashlights where I’m going to need them. I’m in the woods a fair bit at night and often times around my house so just navigating to a hunting spot night vision is a pain. I’m sure much higher end stuffs better but I have what I have. Plus I’m on the water a decent amount at night as well and do have good lights on quick disconnect mounts on the front of my boat that are great but a GOOD flashlight is needed as well.
For me Surefire has never let me down and they work great for what I need, MOD to me is overbuilt for what I need and light wise not even close to justifying the cost (for me at least). It really depends on what you are using it for as well, is narrow beam and long distance more important or more flood light?

 

No love for MagLite anymore?

 

Back in the late 90's we used to give the 2D cell Maglites with our company logo to clients. I still have about 15 of them. The sad thing is that a single 18650 battery Fenix is about 10 times brighter than those old Mag's. Then again, you can't crush someone's skull with a wimpy little 18650 light

 

Industrial Maintenance. Carry a Fenix every day for 5 years. Its held up better than any light ive tried.

 

I had a 4 cell MagLite "alumabat" from the incandescent days. They make LED versions today; I'm guessing those are pretty bright.
The Mini MagMagLites were pretty cool. You could unscrew the variable focus lens housing, stand it on its face and then stand the main housing inside it. The bulb would be exposed and could illuminate a whole room like a bright candle. Always ended up misplacing them, tho'. I think I have three...somewhere.
As it is, MagLite was probably the catalyst for developing flashlight technology...kinda like SureFire seems to be responsible for spawning today's offerings.
