There have been quite a few good ones....Pryor, Carlin, Kinison, Chappelle, Murphy, but my favorite has to be Robin Williams. Dude was on fire in his early days, like RW Live at the Met.
Carlin will always be the best ever, he was on another level that to me will never be equaled. After that it’s Bill Burr, he’s the funniest man alive to me. But like music, there’s so much to choose from, so many funny dudes out there right now. As much as I love Burr I chose to see Tom Segura instead last year because he’s funny as shit and does theatres instead of arenas. I don’t want to watch comedy with 15,000 or more people like it’s a concert. Kinison would be up there but it was such a short run. Rock, Chappelle, and Louis CK are definitely up there too.
Can't disagree with any mentioned. In the current ones available on utube: Randy Feltface, Taylor Tomlison, (I can never remember her name though), very good with the crowd Gervais, Lastly, on another level, Sergey Lavrov is pretty funny too....
I love to laugh and in addition to that talent Hicks introspect and view of life was incredible. Gone way too soon.
List of great ones has to include Richard Pryor. I think there's a few other older 'greats' I'm not thinking of at the moment.
Rodney Dangerfield Buster Keaton Red Buttons Phil Silvers Bud Abbott Lou Costello Phil Hartman Moses Horwitz Schmuel Horwitz Jerome Horwitz Lawrence Feinberg Jack Benny George Burns Gracie Allen Holy hell this list could go on forever.
Bill Burr is probably my all-time favorite but currently Shane Gillis might be the funniest. To me, atleast.
George Carlin Richard Pryor Eddie Murphy Ron White Dave Chappelle, mostly for his show skits. His standup is funny, but not on par with the above. Ricky Gervais deserves a mention just for his absolute torching of the celebs at the Oscars a few years ago.
Saw Jimmy Carr and Tom Green live this year and both were awesome. Love Bill Burr and Dave Chappelle too.
