Alright here goes, The fiance is having a bit of trouble finding a song for her Father Daughter wedding dance...Any suggestions?
My wife chose the ever popular "Butterfly Kisses." You can't go wrong sentiment-wise, but there were a coupe of 'not this again' groans from the crowd I think
Also seen "The Dance" by Garth Brooks and "Wind Beneath My Wings" by Bette Midler done. Both seem pretty popular.
My Finace is using Stevie Nicks "Land Slide" but sje is also a huge Stevie Nicks fan.....so that was predictable for her. My suggestion was Bitches ain't shit by Doc Dre and Snoop Dawg.....
Okay, diggin deep here...how about "Because You Loved Me" Celine Dion ... "You Are So Beautiful" Joe Cocker... or "The Way You Look Tonight" by Sinatra (if it's an evening wedding)
"Have I Told You Lately" by Van Morrison My wife and I used it for our song, but I think it would be appropriate for a father/daughter dance as well...
Tell her to pick a song the she and her dad can relate too......or a song is just that...a song. it doesn't matter what type, what matters that it's a song that her and her dad may have listened to when she was younger..etc.........just a point of view from a wedding photographer...
That would have my father and I dancing to something like "Margarittaville" or "Why Don't We get Drunk and Screw"...gotta love being raised on Buffett. Oh yeah, I could also consider "Mrs. Robinson" or "The Sound of Silence" from Simon and Garfunkel.
Father/Daughter, Unforgettable by Nat King Cole (NOT the duet version) or "IF" by Bread. Mother/son, "Walk Like A Man" by Springsteen (it's on the Tunnel of Love album, brilliant and not something you hear often). First Couple dance, "Why don't we do it in the Road" . Cheers, Lee S.
