Entry Level Drill Press

    Any recommendations for an entry-level drill press?

    the $49 (on sale reg $79)table tops from harbor freight are not bad

    dremel with the tower-press add on is what i use with great success.

    +1 for mini drill press from harbor freight or northen tools. Makes safety wiring 10x easier. :)

    +2 granted, mine only lasted about 3 uses in a year before the capacitor went to shit, but I only paid $29 for it. next one I buy, I'll get the extended warranty for it.

    You should consider that there is no such thing as a "starter" machine tool. Once you get it, you will feel compelled to keep using it until you destroy a part that cost more than a good new or used press. DAMHIK.

    Spend $200 and get a good, used upright drill press. You'll have it forever, and in a pinch you can still sell it for $200.
