I lost an old friend in Greenville,SC when a tree fell on him. Guy has been riding for 50 years and got taken out by a damn tree. Rip Reno
A buddy checked in from Cherokee last night… they still don’t have cell service or internet… that’s way west on the NC/TN border at nearly 5k’… he said Asheville and the entire valley is really bad…
The Hospital did great, while we’re right on the intercoastal across from Sand Key and Clearwater Beach the majority of the campus is high enough to remain safe from surge. This facility has taken hurricane hardening very seriously and spent north of 40 million to survive these kind of events. This was a surge event more than a wind or rain event, while wind damage did occur I’ve seen much worse, the surge was another story. We had water damage in the marketing building closest to the sea wall, other than that we’re pretty good. I run the central utility plant and I closed transitioned onto emergency mode for the worst of the storm, those inside the campus would never know we were in a storm unless they looked out the window. For my staff and myself it was a long 25 hour shift. All that said, as much damage as we have, everyone on the Florida’s west coast is extremely lucky this was a fast moving storm, if it had been moving slower the damage would have risen much higher.
My local gun board has a running thread. Lots and lots of pictures and videos from the area. This area is what I call "home". It's gut wrenching and heart breaking. This isn't a bad storm. This is what a warzone would look like. Entire towns just wiped away. All of us old motorcycle riders know these roads. Chimney Rock? Fucking gone. Just gone. Video of a water fall in a park being completely reformed, like a power washer in sand. Video of flash floods coming in just like the videos from Japan when the tsunami hit. Pictures of grand parents holding their grandchild on the roof of a house... Then being told the entire house being swept away. Bridges everywhere collapsing like cards. Drone footage of Erwin, TN with I26. Looks like it was carpet bombed. The plus is seeing so many people doing what they can. One "Adv rider" going where nothing else can doing welfare checks and bringing water on request of board members. Guys in their big wheel 4x4s going out with their chainsaws to help clear roads. I just feel overwhelmed and all I got was a ruined lawn.
Waters in the western Carib and eastern Gulf are a good bit cooler than they were for Helene. There is also more wind shear than there was for Helene. Anything that develops in that area anytime soon isn't going to be a strong storm (TS at most) but could of course bring rain, which the Southeast really doesn't need right now.
That second pic is a scrapyard… you can see the shredder and the clawed excavators and scrap metal all over… even the cement truck barrels… I’m sure it’s bad but this misinformation is bullshit
Doesn't make the first image any better. And you don't have any evidence that it looked like that before the storm (second pic).
Just got off the phone with family there, apparently the city water supply is decimated. Likely a month to restore, aside from the problem of actually getting materials and supplies in and out. They're going to be finding bodies for months.
One county in North Carolina has over 600 missing. A bunch of Nascar owners and drivers helping out by lending their aircrafts for supply runs......Penske, Childress, Gibbs, Hendricks, Stewart, even Carl Edwards is flying his own plane and Gregg Biffle flying his helicopter.
I have a Fkn brain that knows what scrapyards look like and exactly the layout I’ve explained… you’d have to be a Fkn idiot to defend that misrepresentation of wherever you got it… I wasn’t blaming you until now… I have kin there too and have talked to them and yeah some is bad but not dismantling of cement trucks and setting up shredders and separating the cast and steel and organizing it in piles by the magic of some force of water that we don’t understand bad… ffs man… come on… we really going to argue about this?
Well, there’s HAARP and there’s lithium in the mountains. Now go look up who’s been grabbing land up there. But i am not the one putting 1&1 together.
Yeah big surprise! They’ll turn it into an open pit in no time… ask Evo Morales how it goes… or Mr “we’ll coup whoever we want” Musk… fuck these globalist fucks
Can we all just turn off our inner cunt for just a smidge? The extent of this disaster is still unfolding and the outlook is mighty fucking grim for those affected. If I were able, I’d be there to help however I could, even if that were just to slap the stupid out of some people.
Screw you, hippie! Apologies. Have been wound a little tight the last couple of days. Lack of communication has been a Mother.
What part your people in? Seems to have started down from Cherokee aways… haven’t heard about Bryson City or Sylva or Waynesville or Maggie Valley yet… seems Canton has some issues…
