Why the lack of love for Vanson these days? Their suits are something of a rarity anymore.

 

Have they gotten lighter?

1986 was a good year...at least most people knew what a woman was.

I have a classic made to order Vanson, it is a great suit and fits like a glove. However when I wanted to upgrade to an in-suit airbag I went to them first. It is not what I bought though as they are using a tethered retrofit airbag in their suits. I wanted a suit that was not tethered with the latest in technology. I went with an NJK suit (A-Stars) as the pricing was good and the customer service was outstanding.

I am getting ready to order a new leather riding jacket for the street and it will be a Vanson for sure.

I love my Vanson, I wanted one since I was a little kid looking at motorcycle magazines, had it custom made in 2004. Maybe 2005....IDK
Still use it. Yes it's relatively heavy but so am I so the suit is the least of my worries....

Technology advanced, Vanson did not keep up IMO.

She was already scary in 1986. This doesn't look scary to me. Just different. I guess makeup added the scary.

 

Grace is definitely unique. Phtographer is Greg Gorman. He has taken a lot of iconic shots. This is not from me knowing, I googled it. Dude has done some really nice work.

 

Not what I envisioned when I searched "Grace Jones 1986", but I thought it was a cool pic. Point was there was plenty of gender-bending in '86.
