Crazy and unconventional sammiches!

I don't know how strange it is, but I make sliced ham and tuna salad sandwiches.
Capers in the tuna salad if I have them.

So this thread about sandwiches had me convince my wife and her friend to go to Hooters

I wanted a mahi mahi sandwich but ended up getting this instead! not pictured are the wings.

Yea, you should be focusing on low fat foods.

 

jelly on grilled cheese. freaks out the wife, but gawdamned is it delicious.

there's also a place here in HB, slater's 50/50 (might be a chain, not sure). name comes from their sig burger: 50% beef; 50% bacon. they have at least one version w/ peanut butter. never heard of that before, but, according to this thread, it's not so unique.

Yup, there's one at DFW. Not what it used to be, but maybe an airport isn't the best place to judge.

 

Used to be a little hole in the wall in Newport News, VA, next to the shipyard that made a sandwich with: chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, onion rings and fries with marinara sauce on a hoagie/sub roll...an arterial cluster-fuck but delicious.

Had another place that made one with 2 beef patties, swiss and provolone cheese, a slice of ham and a fried egg on top of it...another heart-stopper but it was worth the experience.

Leftover Mac and cheese cut into a square but on two pieces of white bread with ketchup and an extra piece of cheese then grilled. Simple but delicious.

 

PB, Lays chips, and sliced (longways) pickles. Grew up on that stuff

 

Here's what comes immediately to mind:

cream cheese and green olive on Pepperidge Farm Very Thin white bread

Kraft American Singles on Potato Bread, buttered and grilled

Honey baked Ham, yellow mustard, and sweet pickles on thin rye

jamon serrano on a baguette with the guts of a tomato, garlic, and olive oil rubbed into it

cold meatloaf and ketchup on white bread

cold spanish tortilla on baguette

tuna, green olive, tomato guts, and olive oil on baguette

TooJays (Jewish deli chain in FL)Triple J - corned beef, roast beef, and turkey, swiss, cole slaw, hold the Russian dressing, on marbled rye.

Time for lunch!

 

Grilled ham & cheese with mayo and dill pickle relish. Sounds really weird but delish.
