Well put. I’ll open my wallet, to an extent to buy American but it’s all about value in the end. Value is also the perception that the consumer has.

 

Perception is often what people are taught. That said, I can't count the number of times people have shown me something they bought, and said "can you believe how cheap this was? The materials must cost more than that". So there's clearly a perception that we're getting things for less than what their value is, at least in terms of how they impact our lives. I'm a bit different. I sometimes save for years to buy the quality thing that I want, rather than succumb to the need for instant gratification and buy the cheap crap that won't last. Other people can learn that. They probably know it inherently, but we've drank the cheap product Kool-aid.

 

Well, with that celebration of life BS, you seem to think that all those old people will just have a fever for a day or two and die pleasantly in their sleep after getting their last hand job earlier in the evening.
