My washer dryer set it getting a little musty. I never understood why the combo units aren't more popular, since they take up half the space. Anyone with any experience? For $1300 or so, they seem to good to be true?

My needs are basic... not a lot of volume or quantity. I'm skinny and the ex is size 00 :)

They are slow. We used to sell and install them in RVs. You will be required to do laundry more often as you can't do large loads. And forget about bedding.

Dampness is always an issue with combo units. If you have the space, go conventional.

I've heard the newer full size ones are much better and work well.

just get a stacked unit… I bought one for my first house in 96 and it’s still going… Fridgedaire… I’ve bought and replaced and thrown away ten other higher end brands since then in rentals and my own houses this one is still in a commercial unit and still kicking!

I like the idea of the new kind that is just one unit and it washes and dries so you don’t have to be around to switch the load. A buddy bought one a couple months ago and likes it so far.

In Germany? I remember my grandmother having a pretty small washer, but no dryer, we always hung the clothes up to dry.

I also remember going in the 70’s and we had to heat water on the stove to take a bath. By the mid to late 70’s they upgraded and we had a shower.

pickled egg There is no “try”

    You got that right.

You’d think you were pulling their arms and legs off to get them to take a bath!

    HPPT !!!

They don't perform as well as separate units and they are maintenance-intensive.

yes. i rented an apartment in a basement, 2 rooms, so there was no room for washer and dryer. hanging up was done when the sun was out, so less than a third of the time :D
