    They improved that place alot over the years. That really impressed me. We can all think of higher profile places that didn't. I hope they find "the right owner". :up:

    What do you suppose a racetrack like that sells for?
    I saw a thread a while back where Sheik was looking for a place to invest five million. Think it is in that range?

    I'm curious about that myself. Wondering what the overall value is given the location, onsite resources, etc.

    I bet it's more reasonable then one would expect given where it's at - though still pricey for sure.

    If I was a serious buyer (I'm not) I'd examine the value of the property based off of it's income history, as well as potential, just as you would with any commercial property. I'm not thinking it would get anywhere close to $5mil..... but that's just me shooting from the hip.

    $1.5 million-ish?????????

    Huh from what i've heard you couldn't even repave Cmp for that though, hell the new kart track area at barber cost 4 million! :eek:

    that would be a bargain, it's a 280 acre complex and that would equal out to about 5000 per acre. don't know the land value in that area but if it went that cheep I wouldn't be surprised if a developer would buy it and bulldoze the track.

    I highly doubt a developer would want this land. It is in the middle of nowhereville. I am pretty sure that the current owners had plans once for villas similar to VIR. The economy tanked and that took care of that!

    I like the track, and hope it continues to thrive. :up:

    My guess on land value....its in frikkin Lancaster SC....I'm no developer or anything, but about the only other thing I see possible besides it being a racetrack, is maybe a small airfield or something....large factory....that kind of thing.

    Its still in Lancaster SC. :rolleyes:

    Rock hill has been growing, but I don't think its stretched that far yet.

    I hope it works out where the track continues to improve and grow.

    There's a kart track at barber? Man it's been too long since I've been there.
